Rabbits are susceptible to infectious diseases which can have serious impacts on their health. The most common diseases in rabbits are myxomatosis and rabbit (viral) hemorrhagic disease hence, one needs to be proactive in getting their bunny vaccinated against these to maintain his good health. Below mentioned is the schedule.
- Myxomatosis: Can be given from 5 weeks & then a booster every year
- Rabbit(Viral) Haemorrhagic Disease (R(V)HD): Can be given from 5 weeks & then a booster every year
- R(V)HD2: Can be given from 10 weeks & then a booster every year
Most vets recommend 2 vaccines- one for Myxomatosis and R(V)HD and other for R(V)HD and R(V)HD2, which are given at least 2 weeks apart.
Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, and White Mice do not require any vaccinations. It is recommended that you take your pet to a veterinarian familiar with these rodents at least once a year for a routine checkup and deworming.
